If men image both the Father and the Son as name-givers and dominion-takers, how do women image God? When we examine Eve's creation and naming, we find patterns that strikingly resemble the Holy Spirit's eternal procession and economic work.

Cross-post from Redwood Church
It is fairly uncontroversial that men are symbols of both the Father and Son, as name-givers and dominion-takers. But what about women? Since the next episode in our series is taking longer than expected to come together, and since it is about modesty, I wanted to share this sermon on how women are images (symbols) of God. The accounts of Eve's creation, and her naming, provide patterns that strikingly resemble the Holy Spirit's eternal procession and economic work. -
